An e-commerce company catering to college students and teachers, Edu.com offers academic discounts and exclusive product and service promotions for big ticket expenses ranging from computers to plane tickets. Edu.com has since merged with Student Advantage.
THE ISSUES
This startup needed to quickly create a brand and business based around e-commerce in the education market. This involved a service launch that would involve the effort of several teams of designers, programmers and marketeers creating a full media blitz including a full-service web site, radio spots, advertising, direct mail, and sponsored events and promotions.
DITHERDOG'S SOLUTION
Working closely with a large team of designers and programmers we developed a comprehensive "customer journey" experience to purchase goods for the web, implementing methods for an academic eligibility verification system, incentive points program, management of complex product SKUs and multi-tiered pricing schemes, all packaged in a proprietary shopping cart experience.
