Compaq has consistently been ranked the largest manufacturer of PC hardware products in the world. They have since been acquired by Hewlett-Packard.
THE ISSUES
To help launch their line of Presario PCs, Compaq needed a robust help system to guide new users on computer set up and troubleshooting for both hardware and software.
DITHERDOG'S SOLUTION
We developed a personable help system and user interface that provided engaging tools to pinpoint specific set-up problems. By creating character avatars and integrating an on-line help that worked with an existing dial-up service, we created a seamless software "shell" that provided a rewarding and helpful experience for home users.
