FastCompany is a magazine about business innovators, reporting on ideas about business strategy, leadership, and work environment. Their web site is a large portion of their editorial offer.

THE ISSUES
Site traffic meant advertising dollar revenue, so FastCompany needed a way to drive Yahoo search engine hit results to their site. Standard advertising methods on the web weren't working, so they needed innovation.

DITHERDOG'S SOLUTION
Our solution was to create a series of banner ads with an interactive questionnaire (before the ubiquity of flash) that lead to a series of spawned "stepping stone" pages. Each of these ad-free one-screen pages had a small tidbit from the wealth of FastCompany content such as the beginning of a feature article or a list of business tips. Users then proceeded to the main site to get more. Deceptively simple. Immeasurably successful.
