SilverStream provides reliable and flexible back-end server solutions to complex data-driven web sites. SilverStream was acquired by Novell in 2002.
THE ISSUES
The most effective way SilverStream convinced new users to purchase their product was to deliver a free trial demo on CD-Rom. To create this experience, they needed an intuitive and heavily branded user interface to launch the software once the demo CD was inserted into a PC.
DITHERDOG'S SOLUTION
We provided a simple demo "shell" application to launch their demo, answer a FAQ and provide links to helpful web sites to support and promote their SilverStream software.
Later we created the SilverStream Developers Resource web site which continued to promote the brand while providing useful developer information post-purchase.
